Trinity Altar Guild is a dedicated group of individuals, both men and women, whose purposes are to
St. Agnes Guild is a ministry group at Trinity that creates and donates hand-crafted items to those in need. These items include security blankets for needy, grieving and/or hospitalized children; caps, booties, and blankets for hospitalized infants, including preemies and children; prayer shawls for adults and children in need of spiritual comfort; chemo caps for cancer patients; and winter caps and scarves for the homeless. They meet monthly on the first Saturday of each month, at 10:00 in the lounge. Their gatherings are delightfully informal. They pray, share stories and patterns, pass around breakfast treats, and show off their latest projects—all while knitting needles click softly. Guild members pray for the recipients, most of whom are unknown to the Guild members, as they stitch each item, then attach a hand-made tag that includes a prayer or blessing. Clergy at Trinity will bless each item before it is delivered to the recipient. For more information, read the Frequently Asked Questions about St. Agnes Guild or contact Kathleen Wells at 817-625-0566 or kathleenwells1@yahoo.com. St. Cecilia's Guild offers programs that spiritually enlighten our members and meetings that provide an opportunity to enjoy the fellowship of the women of Trinity. The Guild meets once a month between September and May and is open to all interested women and their guests. For more information, contact Jacque Cage at 817-926-8817 or jacque_cage@hotmail.com. CoDA Daughters of the King is an Order for women of the Episcopal Church organized in 1885. Every daughter pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service and personal evangelism, dedicated to the extension of Christ’s kingdom and to the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. We are women dedicated to serving our Lord and building up His Church. Next time you are sitting in a pew, look where the visitation cards are placed. Along with them you will find a little blue card. If you have a private concern or prayer request, please fill out this card and place it in the collection plate. These will be picked up by a Daughters of the King member and placed on their confidential prayer list. If you wish to have the name also on the church’s regular prayer list, sign the back of the card. The Daughters' list is kept confidential. Click here for more information about Daughters of the King, check the kiosk in the parish hall for a Daughters information tract or call either Anita Beckman at either 817-919-6280 or adbeckman@earthlink.net or Celia Ledbetter at 817-926-5336 or cledbetter@academicplanet.com. St. Martha's Guild is a group that helps to keep the kitchen organized and clean. The guild meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm, and is always looking for members who don't mind getting their hands dirty and who love to organize. The Contemporary Music Group provides accompaniment for Trinity's 11:30 worship service with a blend of traditional gospel, folk-gospel, and contemporary Christian music. The band is an eclectic group of dedicated musicians, composers, and vocalists, and features guitars, electric bass, keyboard, violin, recorder, percussion, and a simply fabulous choir. Traditional aspects of the Rite II service, such as the Gloria, Lord's Prayer, and Pascha Nostrum, are also set to music and add a profound sense of energy and intimacy to the service. Every Sunday for almost twenty years, Trinity has held a true folk mass, filled with music and warmth that many members find irresistible. Whether you're a cradle Episcopalian or a new arrival to the church, this worship service is a not-to-be-missed experience. While Episcopal tradition lies at the core, the 11:30 service provides a sense of comfort and community in a more informal folk gathering. It is fundamentally a Rite II service. As you enter the Sanctuary, however, you'll find grey binders beside the programs table. These binders contain selected portions of the Rite II liturgy, as well as the service music we use. In short, everything you'll need in one package! Altar rails and kneelers are removed, and at the beginning of the Eucharist the congregation processes as a group to the chancel area and participates in Holy Eucharist standing around the altar. While quite a few Episcopal churches conduct once-a-month or occasional folk services, an ongoing, weekly service with a deep tradition is a delightful rarity. If you've not experienced it, you owe it to yourself to attend. Moreover, if you enjoy good folk music, and like to sing and/or play a musical instrument, consider joining the Contemporary Music Group. Contact Eben Atwater, the group's director, at 817-881-7031 or ebena@sbcglobal.net for more information. The Seniors Group offers activities and opportunities for ministry for some of the older people in the congregation. Each month they gather together for a social occasion, and invariably this occasion includes lunch at a local restaurant. But they've been known to hop on the Trinity Railway Express for an all-day outing to Dallas to tour museums and parks. They have also hosted dances, with Bill Roe providing the music from his extensive collection of Big Band era recordings.
Besides the social side of this group, they have put in place a
Call-a-Friend Program, with small groups of members who are living alone
contacting the members of their group on a regular basis. In addition to
the benefits of friendship and frequent contact with others, this
program provides a safeguard in the event of a health problem or an
accident in the home. For more information contact Harry Wickes at

So far this committee has stitched the kneelers at the main altar, the seats and backs of the three chancel chairs, the Gospel Book cover, and the cushion in the Columbarium. More recently they have concluded work on needlepoint projects in Saint Mary Chapel, including five kneelers and the seats and backs of the Bishop's and Priest's chairs. The reverse side of three of the kneelers in the chapel are of Noah's ark, and will be used during chapel services for the preschoolers. Also underway are "Reserved" signs for use at the ends of pews. If you are interested in joining this group, call Tom Wilson at 817-923-0444 or twwbjw@charter.net. The Men's Bible Study group meets every other Thursday Morning at 7:00 a.m. (Check our calendar for exact dates.) The meeting begins with bagels, coffee, juice and conversation, followed by an hour of Bible study. Study guides and a brief verbal overview are prepared and presented by our Associate Rector Fr. Bill Taylor. The group usually dismisses between 8:15 and 8:30. For more information contact Vic Whitmeyer at 817-924-8098 or vwhitmeyer@aol.com. |
