New Steering Committee Formed
A new Diocesan-wide Steering Committee has been formed for the purpose
of reaching out to those Episcopalians who wish to remain in The
Episcopal Church, should the second vote to leave The Episcopal Church,
scheduled for next fall's Diocesan Convention, pass.
The Committee consists of a nine-member Executive Board and a
Consulting Committee. The Executive Board consists of co-leaders Fr.
Courtland Moore and Walter Cabe of St. Alban's in Arlington. Other
members are Fr. Fred Barber, who represents those members of the clergy
in our Diocese who have indicated their preference to remain in The
Episcopal Church; Kathleen Wells (Trinity, Ft. Worth), who represents
Steadfast Episcopalians; George
Komechek (Trinity, Ft. Worth), who represents
Ft. Worth Via Media; and Victoria
Prescott (St. Francis, Willow Park), who represents
North Texas Remain Episcopal. Margaret
Mieuli (St. Christopher, Ft. Worth) serves as the treasurer, and Fr.
Bruce Coggin serves as clerk. A ninth member of the board is yet to be
named, but will represent Remain Episcopal Granbury.
The Consulting Committee has representatives from Steadfast
Episcopalians, Ft. Worth Via Media, North Texas Remain Episcopal, Remain
Episcopal Granbury, plus individual parish representatives. One goal of
the Steering Committee is to find at least one parish representative
from each parish in the Diocese who will be willing to serve as a
communicator to others in his parish who may prefer to remain in The
Episcopal Church.
The Committee has issued a
statement of their mission and beliefs.
An Adult Forum has been scheduled for May 11 to present a program
concerning the Steering Committee.

Saturday Supper Hosts Needed
A great way to make new friends and get to know people better is to
attend Saturday Suppers that Trinity holds on the 3rd
Saturday of each month from September through May. Mary Sheldon is now looking
for volunteers to host suppers on the following dates:
October 18, November 15, January 17 (2009), February 21 (2009), March 21 (2009), April 18
(2009), and May 16 (2009). These
suppers are potluck. Each person/couple brings a dish to
share and their choice of beer or wine if they so desire.
The host/hostess provides the home, eating utensils (these
can be your personal dishes or paper products),
coffee, tea and soft drinks and an appetizer. The guests
arrive at 7 and begin leaving by 9. If you would like to host
one of these suppers or have any questions, please contact
Mary Sheldon (817-294-3763 or
mwssunscap@sbcglobal.net). Patricia's Paper People (PPP)
A new group of volunteers is being formed to help our secretary,
Patricia Collins, with office jobs such as collating, stapling, envelope
stuffing and addressing - anything she needs to get things done/out for mailings, annual meetings, Easter/Christmas/Thanksgiving letters,
directories, etc. Please call Jean Wilson or Mary Cochran to enlist.
Communicating with the Church
Since you're reading this online, you are obviously computer savvy, so
remember this. If you need to communicate with the church (submit
information for the Sunday bulletin or Parish Paper, schedule an event,
submit or update personal information) please visit our
Forms page.
There are a host of forms that make communicating easy - both for you and for
our tireless church administrator.
