Foyer Dinner Groups

Whether you’re new to Trinity or a long-standing member, one of the best ways to get to know others in our church is through Foyer Dinner Groups

Newcomers and seasoned parishioners alike are encouraged to join a Trinity Foyer Dinner Group for the coming church year. Please consider signing up for a fun and relaxed way to become more connected to other “Trinitarians.” Groups are being formed in October with the first monthly meeting to begin in November or very early December. The subsequent four meetings are suggested to be in January, February, March, and April. We will finalize our Foyer Dinner Group season with a celebration dinner in the Parish Hall on May 4, 2024.

What Foyer Dinner Groups are…

… small groups of individuals, usually six to eight people, who meet once a month for a maximum of two (2) hours in members’ homes for a simple meal and fellowship. If you are unable to host in your own home, your group may meet elsewhere at an agreed upon place.

… groups are any combination of singles, couples, young people, retirees, people with school age children, empty nesters, etc.  Groups will be thoughtfully created and assigned by the Foyer Dinner Group chairs to assemble a cross-section of Trinity parishioners for strictly social events and to share a meal.

What Foyer Dinner Groups are not…

… a “Top Chef” competition. Meals are intended to be simple and stress free. Often the host will provide the entrée, with others bringing a salad, vegetable, bread, dessert, etc. There are no “rules.” Each group will determine their own unique style. In some instances, or for a change of pace, groups may wish to meet in the church garden for a picnic or at a mutually agreed upon restaurant.

… a page out of Martha Stewart Living magazine.  Keep in mind, Foyer Dinner Groups are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable events.

… a bible study or prayer group. There is no agenda other than spending time with one another and engaging in stimulating and lively conversation.

How long do the groups stay together?

The suggestion for the 2023-2024 Foyer Dinner Groups is to meet monthly starting with one meeting in Nov. or Dec., then Jan. – April for a total of 4-5 individual FDG meetings. Each group will determine the day/time/location that is convenient for their members to meet each month.

The 2023-2024 Foyer Dinner Group season will wrap up with a final dinner on May 4 to assemble all groups together in the parish hall.  As a special treat for the final “all groups” dinner, we plan to create an entertaining slide show with photo memories from our various groups. The final dinner will provide a perfect opportunity for groups to share their funniest moments, special memories, etc.
