I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God's holy Word. (BCP p. 265)
Lenten Retreat Wednesdays
Feb. 25; March 4, 11, 18, 25
5:30 to 7 p.m.
- A very simple meal (vegetable soup/bread) will be available in the kitchen. Participants are also invited to bring their own take-out dinner and eat with other parishioners in the Parish Hall.
- Nursery care is available (infants-age 4)
- Children/youth are encouraged to fully participate in the prayer practices happening in the Chapel and Nave. Parents/guardians may also wish to accompany their kids to the Children's Chapel to engage with storybooks and coloring.
- Prayer station with tapers/votives will be offered in the Nave, along with blessed water in the baptismal font to enrich your devotions.
- Booklets for adults, youth, and children will be available to guide you in walking the Stations of the Cross in the Nave.
- At 6 p.m. you are invited to a guided Holy Rosary session in the Chapel.
- At 6:45 p.m. please join us for Compline in the Chapel.
- Reconciliation of a Penitent (confession) is available by appointment. You can explore this pastoral office through the Book of Common Prayer at this link. Please contact Father Robert Pace or Father Eric Bumgardner to set up an appointment.
The devotional practices and the schedule described above will apply to each Wednesday of Lent with two exceptions:
- On Wednesday March 4, Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayer will replace the guided Holy Rosary and Compline.
- On Wednesday, March 25, Holy Eucharist for the Feast of the Annunciation will replace the guided Holy Rosary and Compline.
